We hereby wish to inform you that the Headmaster of MBHS, the Honorable Mr. Tendayi Gwashu, who has led our school since 2015 has retired effective from the 10th of June 2022. Mr. Gwashu led our school for the past 7 years and has been a leader and pillar in the field of Education for the past 30+years. Please join us in thanking Mr. Gwashu for his leadership, commitment, dedication and years of service to many generations of students whom he has mentored over the years. Members of our Board of Trustees, the Men of Valour establishment and the larger Mutare Boys High School fraternity are hereby sending our best wishes to Mr.Gwashu and his beloved family as he transition into retirement.
To celebrate Mr. Gwashu’s retirement, the students, teachers, school staff and Old Boys joined forces to give the Gwashu’s a series of befitting, heartfelt and inspiring farewell send-offs. Check out our Images Page for video clips and photos that perfectly captured the heartwarming sentiments by the students, teachers, staff, partners and representatives from the Old Boys Trust and regional Sports Associations.
Mr. Gwashu‘s last official day was June 10th but we invited him and his family back on June 15th (on his Birthday) to celebrate both his retirement and birthday. As major stakeholders at the school, we took part in the festivities and our Mutare based Board of Trustees members Mr. Richard Chiwandire and Mr. Pension Mandimutsira represented the entire fraternity of MBHS Old Boys from all eras.
The process of selecting the next Headmaster for our beloved school is underway and as an established Old Boys Association we’re doing the necessary outreach to the Ministry officials to ensure that the next Headmaster who will be appointed to lead our school is someone who is pro-development and will help transform our school into a great and respectable institution in the entire region and nation at large.
Heartfelt thanks also go out to the entire MBHS Staff, MBHS Old Boys TRUST team , The Global MOV group on WhatsApp and the Global community of MBHS Old Boys on Facebook. Thank you for supporting our school for the long term. Therefore let us all remain engaged and excited about the future prospects of Mutare Boys High School.
